Steve Harvey

Mr. Harvey has more than 27years of broad-based human resources experience in corporate, field, and consulting environments. He has provided human resources and employee counseling support at all levels and in many functional areas as R & D, transportation, marketing, finance, planning, information systems, legal, aviation, healthcare, environmental, and mining. His consulting has focused on employee selection, development of behavioral selection guides for management, corporate restructuring, training needs analysis and outplacement.

As a corporate human resources executive, Steve has designed corporate recruiting programs for technical, financial and operations functions. His experience in corporate downsizing includes corporate reorganizations, internal placement, outplacement, training managers in employee terminations, legal compliance, and employee counseling. He has extensive experience in industrial relations including labor-management cooperation programs, labor contract negotiations, and with union-free operations.

Steve has managed compensation, benefit and policy staff groups, designing and implementing compensation programs including "gainsharing" incentive based compensation systems.

Following 20 years in corporate human resource assignments, he has worked as a consultant with industries as diverse as manufacturing, healthcare, and aviation. Steve has designed behaviorally based employee selection models and has trained managers in behavioral selection techniques. Steve has planned large scale workforce reductions, plant closures, designed on-site career center programs and has worked with terminating managers to develop effective workforce reduction implementation strategies. Career transition counseling support has been at all levels from executive to individual contributor positions.

As the managing partner of OI Partners Inc., Los Angeles and San Diego, Steve has provided support in all areas of the business including marketing, operations, workforce reduction planning and career counseling.

Steve was born in Indiana, holds a B.A. degree in Psychology from Wabash College, and attended graduate business school at Indiana University prior to his relocation to Southern California in 1977.

He has held leadership positions in a number of human resources, business, education, and new venture organizations.
